About me »
I am currently consultant at DNV-CIBIT.
From 2005 to 2009 I have been a Ph.D. researcher at the VU University Amsterdam, the Netherlands. I conducted research in architectural knowledge management, with a specific interest in how to effectively share relevant knowledge in an Enterprise and software architecture setting. This research is conducted in collaboration with several industrial partners, one of them being Capgemini BAS (previously known as Getronics PinkRoccade), where I have conducted several case studies. My doctoral research has led to a number of scientific publications.
Apart from my research activities from 2005 to 2009 I have been involved in teaching the software architecture course at the VU University, and supervise various bachelor and master thesis projects.
In addition to my work at the VU University, I have worked part-time as technical consultant and researcher at the Enterprise architecture department of Capgemini BAS from 2006 to 2009. There I worked on defining and improving methods, processes, and (Web 2.0) tool support for the enterprise and software architecture domain, with a particular emphasis on knowledge management support. My recent activities included the design and implementation of a enterprise wiki environment for our 'architecture community', the training of colleague architects on how to effectively describe architectures, and the establishment of process guidelines for evaluation and evolution of architectures. Last but not least, I guided interns who conduct their master thesis research in the field of architectural knowledge management.
Prior to my Ph.D. research I studied Computer Science at VU University Amsterdam Amsterdam. I received my M.Sc. degree (cum laude) in March, 2005. My Master's thesis is titled "A framework for modeling architectural knowledge".
I am married to Taoying and am the proud father of Michael, who was born August 28th, 2009. I like to play tennis, but fancy skiing and surfing as well. I am quite a movie addict and if time permits I like to read novels as well.
